The Dinagyang Photo Contest 2014

The Dinagyang Photo Contest Committee chaired by Dr. Paul Francia is getting away from the traditional P500-entry fee per participant photographer and videographer to join in the photo contest.

“There will be no entry fee for any photographer taking shots of Dinagyang 2014 activities and the competition is open to all professional and amateur photographers without paying P500 just to take pictures and join the photo competition,” Francia announced.

Francia said that he accepted the committee chairmanship on condition that there will be no entry fee as what happened in the previous Dinagyang photo contest that many complaints arose.

The photo contest will have two categories, one for Street shots taken on January 20-26, including the fluvial procession and other activities and the other is Ati Category taken only on January 25-26, 2014 during the Kasadyahan and Ati-atihan competitions.

There will be a pre-screening of all photo entries to be submitted before the February 5, 2014 deadline at the Philippine Red Cross. The screened photos will be exhibited at SM City Iloilo and the entries must be colored without border in sizes 8 by 10 or 8 by 12 inches with a maximum of three entries for each category.

Francia said that prizes for Street Category are P15,000 and one year free supply of Greenwhich pizza for the first, P7, 000 for the second and P5,000 for the third and five consolation prizes. Prizes for the Ati Category are P25,000 for the first, P10,000 for the second, P7,000 for the third and five consolation prizes of P1,000 each.
