Seven Festivals to Join Kasadyahan 2014

The Kasadyahan 2014 will continue to showcase festivals from other areas nowithstanding the devastation of Typhoon Yolanda.

Seven festivals from various parts of Western Visayas confirmed to join the Kasadyahan, otherwise known now as the Regional Cultural festival, on January 25, 2014.

Department of Tourism (DOT-6) Director Helen Catalbas said the (UPDATED) participants are the following:
  1. Kalibo Ati-Atihan Festival of Kalibo, Aklan
  2. MassKara Festival of Bacolod City
  3. Manggahan Festival of Guimaras
  4. Saad Festival of Leganes, Iloilo
  5. Tribu Hugyaw of Silay City, Negros Occidental
  6. Sinadya sa Halaran of Roxas City, Capiz
  7. Busilak Pintaflores Festival of San Carlos City, Negros Occidental
  8. Tribu Banigan Festival of Libertad Antique
  9. Tribu Panubli-on of Professional Electronics Institute
  10. Hugyaw of Saint Therese College, Iloilo City
  11. Pan-ay of Fort San Pedro National High School, Iloilo City

Earlier, Dr. Eden Deriada, Kasadyahan 2014 committee chairperson, said three schools from Iloilo City confirmed their participation in the festival.

These schools are John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFU), St. Therese College and the Fort San Pedro National High School.

“The committee eyes a maximum of 12 participants. With 10 already confirmed to join the Kasadyahan 2014, two more may still be accommodated,” Catalbas said.

Participants from outside Iloilo City will each receive subsidies ranging from P150,000, P180,000 or P200,000 depending on the distance and difficulty of coming to Iloilo City.

City-based participants will each get P150,000.
