Construction starts for P470-M Iloilo Convention Center

The contractor builder of the imposing five stories Iloilo Provincial Capitol handily won the bidding of the Iloilo Convention Center held last September 24, 2013 held at the Dept. of Public Works and Highways regional office here.

DPWH Regional Director Edilberto Tayao said that Hilmark Construction posts a bid price of P479 million against FF Cruz Construction of P600 million and FGurrea without a price bid to win the contract and finish the building within 270 days.

Tayao said that documents of the winning bidder were sent yesterday to the central office of the Department of Tourism-Tourism Infrastructure Economic Zone Authority (CDOT-TIEZA) and the Notice of Award and Notice to Proceed will be issued within a week to Hilmark to start the construction. Tayao said the construction of the structure only is expected to commence October 15, 2013 to be finished in nine months by 2014 following the design of Ilonggo international architect William Coscoluella.
