Selling of Dinagyang kiosks start first week of January

The Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. (IDFI) will start selling kiosks for the Dinagyang Festival 2012 first week of January.

Nomar Chavez, in-charge of the kiosk sales and management said that more or less 500 kiosks will be mounted in five areas namely Valeria, Solis, Fermin Caram and Iznart streets and in front of SM Delgado.

Kiosks will be rented at P1,100 each for two days, he said.

Reservation is not allowed and the foundation will give priority to establishments whose front portion will be covered by the area identified for kiosks.

On the other hand, they may also allow small vendors to put up their own kiosks free of charge out of goodwill, according to City Tourism Officer Benito Jimena which they also did during the 2011 Dinagyang Festival.

Last year, the foundation was able to generate some P220,000 out of the kiosks rental. (PNA)
